Ever get caught playing with your calculator in school and your teacher made you erase all the games? Ever wish that your memory screen wasn't working, so it would be impossible for anyone to erase the games? Are you sick of unarchiving and archiving games every time you want to play them? Do you wish that all file management operations could be carried out with the push of a button? Wanna hide your best games? If the answer to any of these questions is yes, MirageOS was made for you.

MirageOS boasts powerful file-management features and a user-ready interface. Any game that you can edit the code of and many that you can't can all be run straight from Mirage, without the hassles of going to the memory menu to unarchive your stuff.

MirageOS has many powerful security features, from having an optional password for MirageOS and Mirage options menu access, to giving you the power to hide and "lock" whichever programs you wish, to letting you disable the memory menu!

How can Mirage do this? Firstly, it's an Application, and those have much power over the calculator, but beyond that MirageOS really stands for Mirage Operating System. That's right. It's an operating system that fits right on your TI-83+!

The bottom line: get this app. If you don't have space (??), MAKE space. It is well worth the security and ease-of-use.

User instructions:

Access Mirage from the App menu, then . . . .

2nd/Enter -- Open/Close folders, run programs, set options
ALPHA -- Options screen
X,T,0,n -- Activates function bar (use funtions via top row of keys)
MODE -- Exits
DEL -- prompt delete dialogue
CLEAR -- go to the previous screen (not to be confused with MODE)
Arrow keys move cursor.
ON -- turn screen on/off
These are the main buttons in the Home Screen.

TIPS & TRICKS

Under the Tasker & Key Hooks submenu are several different interesting features . . .

Quick Key Repeat starts arrow and delete key repetition immediately.
Enable Lowercase allows you to type lowercase letters by pressing the ALPHA key twice. Play around with this one.
For the Ultimate in Calculator Security, keep all your programs hidden, locked and archived, then Block Access to Memory Menu. This is the only way to ensure that annoying people won't just start deleting your games. The ONLY way.

BE WARNED: There is but one drawback to Ultimate Calculator Security -- DON'T FORGET YOUR PASSWORD ONCE YOU'VE BLOCKED THE MEMORY MENU. TRUST ME. This is a double-edged sword, since blocking the memory menu is the only way to ensure that no one changes your password. -- Johno
